I work as an Associate Professor of Linguistics at the Department of Foreign Language Education, Middle East Technical University, Ankara where I mainly teach courses on Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis and Corpus Linguistics  at the graduate level, and Linguistics, Bi/Multilingualism and Research methods courses at the undergraduate level.

Over the years I have worked within the domains of corpus-assisted (critical) discourse analysis, online discourses and social media discourse analysis, cross-cultural (im)politeness research, spoken corpora compilation, conversation analysis, discourse and gender, intercultural communication, applied linguistics,  classroom discourse and English taught programs and internationalization.
