about me
I graduated from Department of Economics, Middle East Technical University in 2001. Since then I am trapped in academia. One day I’d like to try the outside world but not now. I have a master degree from METU and a PhD from UNU-MERIT of Maastricht University. After working at UNU–MERIT and CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis I got a “home sweet home” feeling and got back to METU. Now I am working at Department of Science and Technology Policy Studies (METU-TEKPOL).
I actually do not remember when I started to produce non academic material. It should be sometime in 2006 when I started writing for Bilgi Çağı. I still write for Bilgi Çağı and some other places but I felt recently that I should start putting all materials together. I am a bit tired of running after the editors of independent blogs and policy blogs. I am a bit frustrated to observe that editorial process of policy blogs are increasingly resembling the old style print media. So I though I better have my own blog. You can find some of my old writings and some of my new ones in various topics but mostly on innovation, R&D, growth etc. I write whenever I felt writing. This is my way to relax. If you want to know more about things that make me think, laugh and furious keep on following me.
