Ugur Karban
Department of Aerospace Engineering, Middle East Technical University (METU)

Ugur Karban’s background is in fluid mechanics, with research experience spanning experimental and computational fluid dynamics. He studies how instabilities and coherent flow structures develop, how they can be identified from measurements and simulations, and how they connect to practical phenomena such as aeroacoustic noise.

His work combines physical interpretation with quantitative tools, including flow visualisation, particle image velocimetry, numerical simulation, modal decomposition and resolvent analysis.

Research interests: turbulence and flow instability; aeroacoustics; reduced-order modelling and modal analysis; data-driven analysis of flow dynamics; experimental and computational fluid mechanics.
