TÜBİTAK’ın 1001 no’lu programı kapsamında desteklenen ve ODTÜ Enformatik Enstitüsü’nde yürütülecek olan “Analiz-temelli Sentez Yöntemleriyle Uzamsal Ses Üretimi” (Spatial Audio Reproduction Using Analysis-based Synthesis Methods) başlıklı bir projede çalışmak üzere iki adet doktora öğrencisine burs verilecektir.

Adaylarda aranan özellikler şu şekildedir:

* Halihazırda konuyla ilgili bir doktora programına (Elektrik ve Elektronik Mühendisliği, Bilgisayar Mühendisliği, Bilgisayar Bilimleri, Bilişim Sistemleri gibi) kayıtlı olması ve bahsi geçen araştırma projesi konusunda tez yapmaya istekli olması

* Sayısal sinyal işleme konusunda işler düzeyde bilgi sahibi olması,

* C/C++ ve/veya MATLAB (ya da GNU Octave) programlama dillerini iyi derecede bilmesi,

* Proje ODTÜ’deki araştırma altyapısının yoğun şekilde kullanılmasını gerektirdiği için Ankara’da ikamet ediyor olması.

Üç yıl sürecek olan projede tam zamanlı bursiyer olarak çalışacak doktora öğrencilerine TÜBİTAK tarafından proje bütçesi dahilinde belirlenen aylık burs miktarı olan 1750 TL ödenecektir.

Applications are invited for two PhD studentships on spatial audio object coding on a project funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). The focus of research is on microphone array signal processing for source localisation and separation, spatial audio content authoring, real-time simulation of room acoustics and subjective evaluation of spatial audio quality. METU is the top research university in Turkey and also one of the top 60 universities by reputation as reported in Times Higher Education 2013-14 World University Rankings. The medium of education is English. The project will be carried out in the Informatics institute of Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey. The institute has state-of-the art research facilities for audio and acoustical signal processing. The research project is funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). The funding covers a tax-free stipend of TRY 21,000 per annum and will be for three years. Candidates are expected to have a B.Sc. and/or M.Sc. degree in electrical and electronic engineering, computer science, or related discipline, must be knowledgeable in digital signal processing and have strong programming skills. All nationalities are eligible to apply. The studentship offer will be conditional on the acceptance of the candidate to the Information Systems PhD program in METU Informatics Institute. The studentships will start in September 2014.
