Project

Welcome to the central hub of our project, HeritageSLR, where we provide a comprehensive overview of its scope and the dedicated team driving its success. The scope of our project is to develop a valuable screening tool aimed at prioritizing adaptive actions for safeguarding coastal cultural heritage against the rising sea levels and the accompanying impacts of climate change. To accomplish this ambitious objective, our project team, consisting of experts from diverse academic backgrounds, including architecture, tourism, city and regional planning, and coastal engineering, works collaboratively. This multifaceted approach allows us to integrate physical and social vulnerabilities, utilizing a pioneering vulnerability assessment model for cultural heritage, in conjunction with the Fuzzy Coastal Vulnerability Assessment Model developed by Assist. Prof. Gülizar Özyurt Tarakcıoğlu. We invite you to delve into the detailed scope of the project and get to know our dynamic team, all of whom share a profound commitment to preserving and protecting Turkey’s invaluable coastal heritage in the face of rising sea levels and climate change impacts. Explore the full scope of the project and meet the team to better understand our mission and ongoing work.
