About me

Dr. Oguz is an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at METU. She received her PhD degree in 2016 from the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering, University of Strathclyde, UK. Her PhD thesis was entitled, ‘Hydrodynamic Design Aspects of Tension Leg Platforms for Wind Turbines’. She worked both as a research and teaching assistant during her PhD and MSc studies. Dr Oguz has a broad range of research interests, including the investigation of renewable energy systems’ behaviour and performance in real sea environments, green technologies, hydraulics engineering and ocean engineering. She is actively engaged in fundamental and industry-focussed research on the hydrodynamic performance of floating wind turbines, marine renewables and energy efficiency of ships. Dr Oguz has published widely in highly ranked international journals and has presented her research at several international conferences and workshops. In September 2018, Dr Oguz was appointed to an ISSC Specialist Committee on Offshore Renewable Energy for a duration of four years. Dr Oguz has also been selected as a Reviewer or an Evaluator for some EU-Horizon2020 calls. Dr Oguz also serves on different committees at METU at Departmental and University levels.
