About the Literature Review

A literature review is the essential introductory part of the thesis where the basics of a subject and previous studies are present. It helps the reader by providing background. It can be narrative, systematic, argumentative, theoretical or integrative.

Writing the review can be highly bothering for graduates. The biggest challenges about this part are the time consumption and lack of practice. Many of them need encouragement at the beginning. Here is a helpful video guide for the whole process.

A detailed article version of the video can be seen here.

If you need a brief step by step guide, you may want to check the document shared by Santa Maria University:

Lots of guides for thesis studies or essays are accessible on the website of George Mason Univesity Writing Center.

Good luck everybody.
