He is currently a master’s student at the Construction Engineering and Management department at Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in the field of the Civil Engineering Department at METU in 2017.

He has distinguished academic success. After graduating from an undergraduate program as a highest-ranking graduate, he maintains his master’s degree with equal attainment. Consequently, he has received several academic scholarships throughout his educational life.

Also, Mert Oytun has recently awarded with Fulbright Ph.D. Scholarship, by which he will start his Ph.D. as a Fulbright Grantee in Fall 2020.

Besides his academic life, he interests in several branches of sports. Especially, swimming and traveling are certain parts of his life. He is an open water swimmer, diving instructor, and an amateur sailor. He achieved to transcend from Asia to Europa. Hence, he acquired the title of a cross-continental swimmer in 2015.

• LEAN practices in the construction industry
• Green buildings and life cycle assessment concepts
