Dr. Bayer’s Research Group is a research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) which conducts its studies under the supervision of Dr. Özgür Bayer. Various interdisciplinary studies in heat transfer and fluid flow, from cooling large-sized electrical machines to microchannel flow and thermal characteristics in magma chambers to electronic cooling systems, are performed.
The mentioned studies include various experiments carried out in the laboratory environment, hydrodynamic and thermal numerical modeling and simulations performed with the help of the computational power established within the research group, and scientific research on fundamental phenomena in engineering sciences. Although the studies are mainly academic research at the master’s or doctorate level, undergraduate students also contribute to these studies.
The established results are presented in the form of publications in prestigious international journals, presentations in prestigious scientific congresses and conferences, and European Union or TUBITAK projects involving researchers from different disciplines on a national or international level.
