Mining evolved into a highly technological industry requiring good understanding of data. Business Intelligence (BI) is a core element of Continuous Improvement initiatives at mines and all mining engineers should be equipped with the right skills to analyze and report on data-driven measures. As a former BI analyst for mines in the US and worldwide, I experienced that mining can be done smarter and the key to success is data.
