Dev t\u00fcp solucanlar\u0131 Polychaeta ad\u0131 verilen alt-\u015fubeye dahil, bu \u015fubede bol bol deniz solucan\u0131 var, ancak bu solucan t\u00fcrlerinin b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00e7o\u011funlu\u011fu su kolonunda s\u00fcr\u00fcklenir halde ya\u015f\u0131yorlar ve boyutlar\u0131 2-3 santimetrenin \u00fczerinde \u00e7ok t\u00fcr yok. Bu \u00f6zellik ke\u015ffedildi\u011fi zaman bilim insanlar\u0131n\u0131 olduk\u00e7a d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015f; bir hayvan nas\u0131l olur da beslenmeden hayatta kalabilir ve bu kadar h\u0131zl\u0131 b\u00fcy\u00fcyebilir? Riftia, oksijen ve s\u00fclfide kolayca ba\u011flan\u0131p ayr\u0131labilen \u00f6zel bir hemoglobin tipine sahip, biz insanlarda bulunan hemoglobin bu i\u015fi sadece oksijen ile g\u00fczel bir \u015fekilde yapabiliyor (s\u00fclf\u00fcrden ayr\u0131lmakta sorun ya\u015f\u0131yor, o y\u00fczden zehirli, aman dikkat). Dev t\u00fcp solucan\u0131n\u0131n k\u0131rm\u0131z\u0131, olduk\u00e7a geni\u015f y\u00fczey alan\u0131na sahip t\u00fcye benzer organ (\u0130ngilizcesi \u201cplume\u201d) ile hidrotermal kaynaklardan gelen sudaki s\u00fclfidi topluyor, bu s\u00fclfid hemoglobine ba\u011flan\u0131yor ve kan ile birlikte trofozoma g\u00f6nderiliyor. S\u00fclfidin oksitlenmesi i\u00e7in gereken oksijen de derin denizdeki so\u011fuk suda \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcnm\u00fc\u015f oksijenden geliyor, onu ta\u015f\u0131yan yine kandaki hemoglobin molek\u00fcl\u00fc. S\u00fclfid ve oksijeni alan bakteriler s\u00fclfidin oksitlenmesi s\u0131ras\u0131nda ortaya \u00e7\u0131kan enerjiyi kullanarak karbondioksiti indirgiyor ve organik madde \u00fcretiyor; bu mekanizmay\u0131 da ileriki yaz\u0131lardan birinde daha detayl\u0131 anlataca\u011f\u0131m. Bu<br \/>\norganik maddeler bakteri ve riftian\u0131n geli\u015fimi i\u00e7in yeterli besini sa\u011fl\u0131yor. Yeterliden de \u00f6te, dev t\u00fcp solucanlar\u0131 bulunduklar\u0131 b\u00f6lgeye g\u00fcn \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131 kaynakl\u0131 besin neredeyse ula\u015fmamas\u0131na ra\u011fmen Polychaeta \u015fubesinin b\u00fcy\u00fcme rekortmenleri, y\u0131lda 20-30 cm uzay\u0131p on y\u0131ldan k\u0131sa bir s\u00fcre i\u00e7inde 2 metre boya ula\u015fabiliyorlar. Bu h\u0131zl\u0131 biyok\u00fctle \u00fcretimi \u00e7evrelerindeki ekosisteme de yans\u0131yor, hidrotermal bacalardan s\u00fclf\u00fcr i\u00e7erikli s\u0131v\u0131lar\u0131n yay\u0131lmaya ba\u015flamas\u0131ndan bir ka\u00e7 y\u0131l sonra bu kaynaklar etraf\u0131nda bal\u0131klara de\u011fin varan onlarca t\u00fcr ya\u015famaya ba\u015fl\u0131yor. Tabii t\u00fcrlerin temel ama\u00e7lar\u0131ndan biri genlerini bir sonraki nesle aktarmak, dev t\u00fcp solucan\u0131 gibi ya\u015famas\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00f6zel \u015fartlar gereken bir t\u00fcr bunu nas\u0131l yap\u0131yor? Endosimbiyotik bakteriler \u201cdo\u011fu\u015ftan\u201d onlarla beraber mi? Bu sorunun cevab\u0131 da olduk\u00e7a ilgin\u00e7. Dev t\u00fcp solucanlar\u0131n\u0131n di\u015fileri ya\u011f i\u00e7eri\u011fi olduk\u00e7a y\u00fcksek yumurtalardan milyonlarca \u00fcretip suya sal\u0131yorlar (bir ka\u00e7 videoda bu an\u0131 yakalam\u0131\u015f durumday\u0131z, izlemesi \u00e7ok keyifli), erkek dev t\u00fcp solucanlar\u0131 da spermleri suya b\u0131rak\u0131yorlar. Spermle birle\u015fen yumurta y\u00fcksek ya\u011f i\u00e7eri\u011fi sayesinde su kolonunda y\u00fckseliyor ve y\u00fczlerce kilometre \u00f6teye ta\u015f\u0131nabiliyor. Bu s\u0131rada larva yava\u015f bir \u015fekilde geli\u015fmeye devam ediyor, larvalar\u0131n endosimbiyotik bakterileri yok ama a\u011f\u0131z a\u00e7\u0131kl\u0131klar\u0131 var, yolda kendi endosimbiyotik bakterilerini ediniyorlar, geli\u015fimin ileri safhalar\u0131nda bu a\u00e7\u0131kl\u0131k kapan\u0131yor. Ben de farkl\u0131 bacalarda ya\u015fayan dev t\u00fcp solucanlar\u0131ndan genetik \u00f6rnekler topluyorum.
