We presented two papers, “Video Content Analysis-Based Detection of Occupant Presence for Building Energy Modelling” and “Automated building energy modeling for existing buildings using computer vision” at the CIB W78 Advances in ICT in Design, Construction and Management in Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations conference in Newcastle. The paper titled \u201cAn Immersive Design Environment for Performance-based Architectural Design: A BIM-based Approach<\/span>\u201d by \u015eahin Akin, O\u011fuzcan Ergun, Elif Surer and Ipek G\u00fcrsel Dino is accepted as a poster to the GOODTECHS 2018 Conference that will be held in Bologna, Italy.<\/p>\n

The papers titled “The Computation of Performative Architecture within Integrated Design Process<\/span>” and “An Assessment of the Energy Performance Evaluation within the Form Conception Process<\/span>” authored by Cem Ataman and\u00a0Ipek G\u00fcrsel Dino are accepted for the\u00a0BEYOND ALL LIMITS \/ 2018, International Congress on Sustainability in Architecture, Planning, and Design. Cem Ataman will be presenting both papers on\u00a0October 17-18-19, 2018.<\/p>\n

Two papers titled “Performance-Based Fa\u00e7ades: Retrofit Strategies for Energy Efficiency and Comfort in Existing Office Buildings<\/span>” by Negin Jahed and \u0130pek G\u00fcrsel Dino, and “Energy consumption of a day-occupied building utilizing phase changing material incorporating gypsum boards<\/span>” by Asst. Prof. \u00c7a\u011fla Meral Akg\u00fcl, B\u00fc\u015fra \u015eim\u015fek and \u0130pek G\u00fcrsel Dinowere accepted to the\u00a013th International Congress on Advances in Civil Engineering. Both papers will be presented during the conference on\u00a012-14 September 2018.<\/p>\n

We conducted a workshop titled \u201cImmersive and Responsive: Performative Architectural Design in Mixed Reality<\/span>\u201d at\u00a0Design Computing Summer School 2018\u00a0at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Architecture in Lisbon, Portugal. The workshop was a result of the collaboration between Department of Architecture (\u015eahin Ak\u0131n and \u0130pek G\u00fcrsel Dino) and the Informatics Institute (Asst. Prof. Elif S\u00fcrer and O\u011fuzcan Ergun). Special thanks to the workshop organizers Dr. Jose Nuno Beirao and Rui de Klerk and the workshop participants.<\/p>\n
