Professor \u00c7al\u0131k&#8217;s Lab comprises the\u00a0 \u201cIndustrial Biotechnology and Metabolic Engineering\u201d and &#8220;Biocatalysis and Biochemical Reaction Engineering&#8221; Laboratories.\u00a0 Professor \u00c7al\u0131k has been an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Microbiology and Letters in Applied Microbiology since 2007, and she was a Guest Editor of the Biotechnology Journal\u2019s Special Issue on Biotechnology in Turkey. Professor \u00c7al\u0131k is presently the Head of the Department of Biotechnology,\u00a0 Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">She received her Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from Ankara University in 1998. Between 1998-1999 she was a Lecturer at Ankara University. From 1999-2006 she was Associate Professor at METU; since 2006, she has been working as a Professor at METU.
