This panel will consider the role of gender and sexuality  in recent uprisings in the Middle East &#8211; from the Arab Spring to Iran&#8217;s  Green Movement. Papers engaged with queer theory and\/or spatial theory  are encouraged, though we welcome all relevant papers and will formulate  our panel direction once we finalize all panelists.
