    Hello, I am \u00d6zg\u00fcr.<\/p>\n

    I am a professor of Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Education, Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey. I have been teaching in the area of Psychological Counseling and Guidance since 2000. Some of the courses I have taught include Disaster Psychology, Developmental Psychology I and II, and Theories of Counseling at the undergraduate level; Cross-Cultural Counseling, Advanced Individual Counseling, Contemporary Approaches to Counseling, and Crises Counseling at the graduate level. I have given international and national invited seminars, especially about grief, trauma and disaster psychology.<\/p>\n

    Other than teaching, I have assumed various administrative positions. I served as Program Chair of the department at Abant \u0130zzet Baysal University between 2004 and 2006; served as Vice Program Chair of the department at METU between 2009 and 2012, and was Program Chair of the department at METU between 2012 and 2014.<\/p>\n

    Some of the awards I received are Fulbright research grant, a number of performance awards from my university, Turkish Higher Education Council’s scholarship, and theses of the year awards.<\/p>\n

    My research interests include outcome and process research in counseling, gender and culture-sensitive counseling, peer bullying (traditional and cyberbullying), trauma, grief, and disaster psychology.<\/p>\n
