Following his studies, Ekinci joined Shires Consulting in Birmingham, UK, as a Geotechnical Engineer in 2008. There, he adeptly handled a variety of geotechnical design challenges and oversaw subsequent fieldwork. In 2009, his academic path led him to University College London as a Ph.D. candidate. His research, funded by an EPSRC project in collaboration with the Highways Agency and Mouchel Consulting, delved into Critical State Soil Mechanics (CSSM), ground improvement, and monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his Ph.D. studies and beyond, Ekinci has focused his research on CSSM, ground improvement, and monitoring, significantly contributing to the field. He has provided consultancy for several high-profile geotechnical projects, including the New Ercan International Airport and the European Commission-funded G\u00fcng\u00f6r sanitary landfill. With over 100 publications in international journals and conferences, Ekinci has established himself as a respected figure in geotechnical engineering. He is an active member of the Laboratory Testing (TC101) and Ground Improvement (TC211) Technical Committees of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Ekinci is a faculty member and the Secretary-General at the Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus (METU NCC).
