This workbook, Introduction to AI and How to Utilize It Properly, has been carefully crafted to guide 7th-grade students in understanding the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI) and its responsible usage. Created by Ç. Ediz Özdemir, Tan Batu Yavuz, and Şaban Emre Genç within the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology at Middle East Technical University, this project aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the ever-evolving world of AI effectively.

As AI becomes an integral part of our daily lives—helping with research, problem-solving, and creative projects—it is essential to learn how to use it ethically and responsibly. This workbook introduces students to key concepts of AI, explores various AI tools, and highlights the importance of originality and academic integrity in the age of AI. Through interactive content, students will develop skills in prompting AI for specific tasks, transforming AI-generated ideas into their own words, and citing AI tools correctly in their work.

The ultimate goal of this workbook is to foster critical thinking, creativity, and ethical awareness among young learners.
