The antenna employs two orthogonally oriented ferrite-loaded loop elements to sense the magnetic-field components of incident signals. This crossed-loop configuration provides directional information from the individual channels while enabling an approximately omnidirectional reception response when the channels are appropriately combined. The design focuses on achieving high sensitivity over the VLF\/LF band within a compact physical volume, where antenna dimensions are much smaller than the corresponding electromagnetic wavelength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research addresses the antenna as an integrated electromagnetic and electronic system. Ferrite material properties, core geometry, winding configuration, impedance, self-resonance, effective height, and directional response are investigated together with low-noise receiver electronics. Numerical and analytical models are supported by experimental characterization using controlled magnetic-field measurements, impedance analysis, sensitivity measurements, and angular-response testing. The effects of channel matching, amplifier noise and linearity, environmental conditions, and mechanical integration are also studied to develop a robust receiving system suitable for practical underwater VLF\/LF applications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A compact VLF\/LF receiving antenna system is being developed for electromagnetic communication in underwater environments.
