Research

Ertan Sürücü is at the early stage of his M.Sc. research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. İsmail Özgür Yaman and Dr. Emin Şengün. His planned thesis focuses on the use of carbon textile reinforcement in cementitious composites to develop an electrically heated pavement system for de-icing applications. The study examines how textile type and orientation influence the heating behavior and flexural performance of the composite material. Two carbon textile products which is a commonly used woven carbon grid and a locally manufactured balanced woven textile that are being evaluated within the same cementitious matrix. Although the work is just beginning, this research will form the foundation of his thesis on carbon-textile-reinforced heated pavement systems.
