My name is I\u015f\u0131k Boz, and I am a Civil Engineer specialising in the field of hydraulics. I am currently advancing my expertise by pursuing a Master of Science in the hydraulics division at Middle East Technical University (METU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My academic journey has been defined by a consistent drive for excellence. After qualifying for the Science and Art Centre (B\u0130LSEM), an institution for gifted students, through standardised testing, I cultivated my research skills from a young age. This unique environment allowed me to submit my first academic article at age 12, which was successfully published by the time I was 16. During my high school years, I also balanced my studies with competitive athletics, playing volleyball and achieving several national rankings in Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at METU, which provided a strong foundation for my practical experience. I gained hands-on site experience as a Site Engineer during my internship with R\u00f6nesans Holding, where I was responsible for the quality control and handover of both rough and fine construction works. My office internship at Netsu allowed me to specialise as a Hydraulic Engineer, performing detailed hydraulic calculations for spillways, bottom outlets, and water transmission lines. Following my successful internship, I accepted an offer to work as a Graduate Hydraulic Engineer at Netsu. In this role, I expanded my responsibilities beyond hydraulic calculations to include quantity surveying, proposal preparation, and liaising with administrative bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon commencing my Master of Science at METU, I transitioned from my role at Netsu to focus on my research. I began my graduate studies under the advisorship of the late Assoc. Prof. Elif O\u011fuz, whose pioneering vision in renewable energy deeply inspired my own. I joined the STEWART (CET Partnership) project, which she initiated, serving as a key researcher. My work focuses on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Floating Solar Power Plants, and I am currently continuing my master’s studies under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Ali Ercan. My professional objective is to build a career at the intersection of renewable energy and finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akademik yolculu\u011fum, daima m\u00fckemmelli\u011fi hedefleyen bir anlay\u0131\u015fla \u015fekillendi. \u00dcst\u00fcn yetenekli \u00f6\u011frencilere y\u00f6nelik bir kurum olan Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi’ne (B\u0130LSEM) standart testler yoluyla kabul edildikten sonra, ara\u015ft\u0131rma becerilerimi gen\u00e7 ya\u015ftan itibaren geli\u015ftirdim. Bu e\u015fsiz ortam, ilk akademik makalemi 12 ya\u015f\u0131nda sunmama olanak tan\u0131d\u0131 ve makalem 16 ya\u015f\u0131mdayken yay\u0131nland\u0131. Lise y\u0131llar\u0131mda, e\u011fitimimi ve rekabet\u00e7i atletizmi bir arada y\u00fcr\u00fcterek voleybolda ulusal dereceler elde ettim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lisans e\u011fitimimi ODT\u00dc \u0130n\u015faat M\u00fchendisli\u011fi b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcnde tamamlad\u0131m. Bu pratik deneyimim i\u00e7in g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc bir temel olu\u015fturdu. R\u00f6nesans Holding’deki staj\u0131m s\u0131ras\u0131nda Saha M\u00fchendisi olarak kaba ve ince in\u015faat i\u015flerinin kalite kontrol\u00fcnden ve tesliminden sorumlu olarak bizzat saha tecr\u00fcbesi edindim. Netsu’daki ofis staj\u0131m, Hidrolik M\u00fchendisi olarak uzmanla\u015fmam\u0131; dipsavak, dolusavak ve su isale hatlar\u0131 i\u00e7in detayl\u0131 hidrolik hesaplamalar yapmam\u0131 sa\u011flad\u0131. Ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 staj\u0131m\u0131n ard\u0131ndan Netsu’dan gelen teklifi kabul ederek Aday M\u00fchendis olarak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya ba\u015flad\u0131m. Bu rolde, sorumluluklar\u0131m\u0131 hidrolik hesaplamalar\u0131n \u00f6tesine ta\u015f\u0131yarak ke\u015fif metraj, teklif haz\u0131rlama ve idari kurumlarla ili\u015fkilerin y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fclmesi gibi g\u00f6revleri de \u00fcstlendim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ODT\u00dc’de Y\u00fcksek Lisans e\u011fitimime ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131mda, ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131ma odaklanmak \u00fczere Netsu’daki g\u00f6revimden ayr\u0131ld\u0131m. Y\u00fcksek lisans \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131ma, yenilenebilir enerji konusundaki \u00f6nc\u00fc vizyonuyla bana derinden ilham veren rahmetli Do\u00e7.
