The Stakeholder Workshop (Co)Designing for Quality of Life in Middle-Class Mass Housing: Exploring Challenges & Opportunities” aimed to explore the challenges and opportunities for improving quality of life and sustainability in Middle-Class Mass Housing complexes through engagement and collaboration with local stakeholders. The case-study site was Umitk\u00f6y Sitesi, Umitkoy, Cayyolu, in Ankara, Turkey. The Workshop was organized as part of a COST Action CA18137 “Middle-Class Mass Housing (MCMH), and Middle East Technical University (METU) hosts it in Ankara, Turkey. The coordination team of the workshop organization includes Dr M\u00fcge Akkar Ercan (Middle East Technical University), Dr Juliana Martins (University College London) and Research Assistant Irem Duygu Tiryaki (Middle East Technical University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Workshop brought 28 experts from 11 countries -Cyprus, Denmark, France, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Pakistan, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, and the U.S.A.The expert groups in the Workshop, coming from different professional backgrounds, included urban planners, architects, urban designers, civil engineers, interior architects, landscape designers and specialists on housing policies, legislations and regulations. They had different experiences, skills, and knowledge of the requalification of MCMH sites. Around ten residents living in the project site participated in the workshop. They worked together with the project groups over the three days to explore the challenges and opportunities for improving the quality of life and sustainability in a Middle-Class Mass Housing (MCMH) site in Ankara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
