Research

My research studies focus on applications of analytical and data-driven modeling approaches to a wide range of reservoir engineering problems. Through the use of such methods in combination with numerical flow-simulation models, I aim to address practical problems and develop improved ways of implementing conventional decision-making workflows for subsurface energy resources. When supported with digital oilfield technologies that enable collecting large volumes of data at very high frequencies, such efforts find applications in the following problems related to hydrocarbon and geothermal reservoirs, including primary, secondary and tertiary recovery stages:

  • Performance forecasting,
  • Screening and operational optimization,
  • Characterization and resource assessment.
  • High-accuracy matching of gas-production rate using a data-driven forecasting tool for tight-gas sand reservoirs.
