A Summary of July-December 2016 Events

Attended the 35rd General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission (ESC) in Trieste, Italy: 4-11 September, 2016 with 2 contributed papers.
Gave an invited talk at the COSMOS workshop (COSMOS International Guidelines for the Application of Non-invasive Geophysical Techniques to Characterize Seismic Site Conditions) held at the mentioned ESC meeting.
Prof Muneo Hori from University of Tokyo visited us at METU on October 21-22, 2016 as part of the JICA-SATREPS-MarDIM project.
As of October 2016, a Supercomputer has been put into operation at METU CE Dept with funds from JICA part of the JICA-SATREPS-MarDIM project.
Starting with Fall 2016 semester, METU has joined a D-learning course on Earthquakes and Tsunamis with Japan and Taiwan.
