We completed our five day METU-STEM marathon in March 2015 with 50 6th grade students, 30 professors and researchers from different universities in Turkey. Our project was supported by the Turkish Research Council (TUBITAK). The STEM activities covered design and inquiry projects across science, mathematics, engineering and math subjects. We were fascinated with all the creativity put into students’ projects. Seeing their excitement and motivation for completing the STEM activities showed us that we were on the right track in providing them STEM explorations. Many of them left with decisions on furthering their STEM training and wanting to attend the same training next year.
